The Aurora Police Department informs the community of the Police enforcement of fireworks within the city. The City of Aurora ordinance for firework enforcement is 29-30.
This ordinance allows the City to hold the owner or person in control of a property liable for allowing violations of this ordinance on their property. This ordinance allows citations for using fireworks, as well as possession. Fines of this ordnance start at $250.00 and can be set up to $1000.00.

The 2023 Free Spring Yard Waste Collection will begin on Monday, April 3, and end on Friday, April 14. During these two weeks, residents do not have to use waste stickers to dispose of yard waste. Yard waste must be placed in a 30-gallon recyclable paper bag and not exceed 60 pounds. Yard waste mixed with garbage or yard waste in a garbage can or plastic bag will not be collected. Beginning Monday, April 17, a waste sticker, which is the same one used for excess garbage, must be attached to the bag.
The City of Aurora is hosting its annual free Spring Electronics Recycling Drive-Thru on Earth Day – Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the downtown Aurora parking lot adjacent to the casino at 201 N. River Street.
All items are free to recycle, including televisions, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Online registration opens at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 31 at www.aurora-il.org/Electronics2023.
