Curfew Hours

With school summer vacation season upon us we ask the question: “Do YOU know where YOUR children are?”
City of Aurora Curfew Hours:10 p.m. for ages 15 and under every night. For youth age 16 and 17, it is 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Midnight Friday and Saturday
When a juvenile violates curfew, he/she will be arrested, photographed and fingerprinted. The guardian/parent will be called to pick up the minor. They also may have to appear in local court. There are exceptions in this ordinance to allow for work, school activities and church events. Further charges against the parent or guardian are also possible.

Memorial Day Parade

Parade steps off at 12:00 noon from Benton and River Streets, heads east on Benton, north on Broadway, west on Downer Place and ends at River Street. Pre-parade program at 11:30am. Parade reviewing stand at G.A.R. Memorial Hall located at 23 E. Downer Place.

Attention Parents/Guardians of the Class of ’17

With graduation season upon us, we are reminded of how many times each year we deal with hosts of graduation parties who express surprise to learn that it is illegal to furnish alcohol to minors attending the parties. Aurora Farmers Market May 20th

Farmers Market Preview and Aurora Gardeners’ Plant Sale this Saturday from 8:00am-Noon at Aurora Transportation Center, 233 N. Broadway. Annual and perennials, native plants and garden decor all from local growers, plus meet your farmers and see a sampling of what Aurora’s Farmers Market has to offer this year.

Aurora “Cop on Rooftop” Benefits Special Olympics

Stop by Dunkin’ Donuts on May 19 to help the cause.

Aurora police will once again take to the rooftops at five different Aurora Dunkin’ Donuts locations from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, to support Special Olympics Illinois. In exchange for a donation to Special Olympics Illinois, customers will get a certificate for a free donut. If you donate at least $10, you’ll receive a travel mug while supplies last and a coupon for a free medium coffee.

The fundraisers will take place at the Dunkin’ Donuts, 1237 N. Eola Rd.; 2380 S. Eola; 2681 E. New York St.; 1255 N. Farnsworth Av., and 2112 W. Galena Blvd.

Aurora police will be assisted by our Citizen Police Academy Alumni who will be selling a variety of Special Olympics Torch Run memorabilia including T-shirts, pins and hats. Last year, residents helped police raise an astounding $12,894 during Cop on a Rooftop!.
